As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor that has worked in different agencies and facilities, served a diversity of people’s concerns, been employed in work environments that proved stressful—and overcame those stressors, and now as an entrepreneur in my field, I understand how demanding careers can make it difficult to balance your work and your life. You can end up with feelings and symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression becoming exacerbated. This has led me to offer my services to those of you in demanding or stressful careers—helping you to overcome your struggles so you can thrive in your work, your life, and your relationships.
If you are struggling with trauma and find yourself at a place where change from within is needed, a main area of focus within my practice is on helping you find resolve for any kind of trauma you may have experienced. Another main area of focus is on anxiety—whether this is something you have felt physical and mental symptoms of that you may not be sure of the origin of your thoughts and feelings, or if it may be somehow related to trauma you’ve been through.
The most prominent counseling tool I use is called Brainspotting, which was founded by EMDR trauma psychologist, David Grand. I have a role as a helper in coaching you through your process of change that we together find through Brainspotting techniques.
Since helping many individuals change their behaviors in the area of substance abuse, oftentimes combined with other mental health struggles, and also people adjusting to life due to physical/mental changes, I’m also practiced in traditional talk therapy, using a cognitive-behavioral approach, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)--meaning how your thoughts, emotions, and actions are related.
I also offer Divorce Therapy. I have extensive experience and aptitude at working with those who are in the middle of a divorce or departure from a long-term relationship. If you have had you heart broken and are in need of healing from relationship struggles, I would love to work alongside you, and be your advocate throughout this time, helping you to overcome and feel empowered emotionally. You are not alone.
I have a humanistic and existential foundation--meaning I value your needs, am there for you unconditionally, and am concerned about what you’re going through. I care about how you see yourself, your life experiences, and your choices on how to overcome. With your struggles come emotions. I work with you to find ways to cope with your emotions--whether it’s your life situation, something your work may be causing, or your work responsibilities are making what has personally been going on for you worse.
