Comparing yourself to others can make you feel stressed, anxious, depressed, and many other bodily symptoms that can be connected with your mind or thoughts. You just don’t feel good about yourself--from the feelings of inadequacy you then form about yourself in comparison.
To change how you see things is to change how you feel about things. There’s a lot I’ve learned from my clients. Sometimes you can teach a “teacher” something. The following quote is one I’ve not forgotten. It was from a past client that learned it in an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. I’ve found myself sharing it with a good number of people.
“ When you focus on yourself, everyone else disappears.”
